Abstract


This research aimed to find out the emotional and psychological problems, and also On (the concept of Japanese social culture relation) in Akutagawa Ryunosuke short stories Imogayu by using Rollo May Existentialism Psychoanalysis Theory. The method used is descriptive analysis method, namely by describing the fact and then followed by analysis, not just describe but also to provide an understanding and explanation to taste. The result of this research indicated the existence of emotional and psychological disorders experienced by Goi figures obtained from the surrounding environment. The concept of being in the world and the non-being of Rollo May could prove Goi interference psychological conditions. In addition, Rollo May also suggested solving problems through the concept of Attention, Love and Freedom.While the concept of On, found the relationship that is built between Goi and Toshihito (subordinate and his master).
