Abstract


Each language has its own characteristics. One of the characteristics of the Japanese language is the character. There are three types of Japanese character: hiragana, katakana and kanji. Each character has a different function and level of difficulty. Therefore, it is necessary to learn Japanese letters that are more practical, interesting, and fun. In the modern era today there are many applications that offer ways of learning a foreign language, especially Japanese. Applications that offer a way to learn Japanese characters on android smartphone are "obenkyou" and "kanji senpai". Both of these applications have their respective advantages which can facilitate Japanese language learners in writing and recalling vocabulary in Japanese.
